Can you paint over white tip acrylic nails?

Can you paint over acrylic nails with other nail polish, like a pink or blue or black colour etc etc ? by that i mean the white tip acrylic nails you have done at salons?
Or will it ruin them when i deciede to remove the polish with varnish remover?

Also another lil question, in salons ive noticed they do "coloured set acrylic nails" so like pink, or black or whatever colour u want, all over. would it better if i had them done from now on, if i want to change the colour alot? How do they do coloured acyrlic nails in salons, do they just put on a natural false nail, without the white tip, and then just paint with the colour of your choice?

Hi, as a qualified nail tech, i'd like to answer your question.

You can paint over acrylic though due to it's porous nature, there may be some staining when you remove the polish so avoid dark colours.

If you choose coloured acrylic, it's just used instead of clear acrylic, not painted on and certainly not "factory made" like the top answerer was suggesting. They will last the same amount of time as clear acrylic so it won't make it easier to change colour frequently unless you back to the salon and have it removed and a new colour reapplied every 5 minutes! The same thing will happen if you paint coloured acrylic in that there may be some staining if the colorur sinks into the acrylic.

My advice if you like changing colours is get gel. Whatever colour gel you have, you can paint over it and when you remove the polish, the gel will come up good as new as it's non-porous.
